My mom is amazingly talented at writing. She has been hearing this her whole life long. She disregards all this. I have finally convinced her to start writing on the web-just for self-expression. Any idea of the best forum? She normally writes of her own experiences.How does one create a blog? What is needed to be done?

Some popular blogging websites are wordpress.com , blogger.com , xanga.com.
If you want a self hosted blog you need to get a hosting account and domain name. Then you can install a copy of wordpress from wordpress.org (not .com).
Once you’ve picked a site (see previous answer), it’s simply a matter of starting to write: most of these services have their own text editors, word processors in miniature.
If you can get her to go along with this, post the location: I’m sure there are lots of Y!A users who’d like to read her stuff.

Just buy a domain name and take out some hosting and then install a wordpress theme. Or go to say Squidoo lens or Hub pages and start up a blog of sorts for free. Perhaps its best to get hosting and install wordpress though – But you can do it easily and for free with blogger.com or wordpress.com.
